Simon Mellings and Karl Ellis travelled to Malmesbury at the weekend to start as Car 1 on the first round of the HERO Challenge Championship, the HERO Challenge One event in their Nissan Cherry.
Starting and finishing near Stonehenge and taking in the very best roads and scenery in both Wiltshire and Dorset, the 156-mile route took in six regularities and eight tests over the very fast and demanding Bovington Tank Training area.
The car ran faultlessly with the crew being second quickest on the tests culminating in a finish of 3rd overall out of the 80 starters. Due to being classed as Masters they unfortunately cannot be shown on the classified results however both report that all in all it was ‘a cracking days rallying’.
