About Ludlow Castle Motor Club

Ludlow Castle Motor Club was formed on Friday 28th April 1950 mainly as a club supporting motor cycle events…..not many people had cars in those days!

A change of direction took place in 1965 when the club withdrew from the Auto-Cycle Union and joined the RAC to concentrate on motor car oriented events.

Over recent years the main emphasis of the club has been towards stage rallying and it boasts many successful members including Mark Perrott, National Champion,  Richard Gough, five times winner of the Famous Woodpecker Stages ,  the 2005 BTRDA Champion Co-Driver Andrew “ Maps “ Sankey, George Thomas the 2005 Silkolene 1400 Champion,  James Wozencroft winner of the BRC Stars of the Future Challenge, to name just a few.

In previous years club members were very active ( and successful ) on the Road Rallying front and organised one of the most popular events, the Peak Revs Road Rally.

There is now a revival in this aspect of Motor Sport with a number of members competing on Road Rallies.

Apart from organising club events such as Autotests and Scatters LCMC have for the past seven years jointly promoted the National “A” Kerridge / Mutiny Rally which raised the profile of the club tremendously.

LCMC also organise the G3RS Haye Park Gravel Sprint in January of each year and the club has been successful in bringing the ever popular Ditton Priors venue back into use.

Whether you are a competitor, wish to help marshal on / organise events or just want to have a great social life come and join the friendly club which meets at the SBS Stadium Ludlow Town Football Club, on the second Wednesday of each month at 8.30 pm.
